Twitter has allowed moderators (note: not doctors) to remove a tweet from White House coronavirus adviser Dr. Scott Atlas which had claimed masks don’t work to stop the spread of COVID-19.

“Masks work? NO,” Atlas had tweeted Saturday, followed by misrepresentations of the science behind the effectiveness of masks in battling the coronavirus pandemic. Atlas also shared a link to an article in The American Institute for Economic Research that argues against the effectiveness of masks.”

Sen. Rand Paul, (another doctor, as well) also defended President Trump for not wearing a mask leading up to his COVID-19 diagnosis, citing a study that says masks have a “97% penetration of particles.”
