One America News Network, OANN, has been suspended for one week from the video hosting platform, YouTube.
In addition to censoring the free press, YouTube has also demonitized all previous content OANN has shared via their YouTube channel, with 1.22 million subscribers.
YouTube claims that the network’s recent video airing optimism over potential Covid-19 cures was “misinformation”, however, the World Health Organization’s videos citing that the coronavirus wasn’t transmittable between humans remains on the site.
Also worth noting, One America News, which is a growing favorite of President Donald Trump, was the first news network to even cover Covid-19:

We were the first network in the country to have someone call for a travel ban due to the severity of the coronavirus all the way back on Jan 22nd while yall were peddling a sham impeachment

Concerns about censorship by Big Tech platforms is increasing as they crack down on anything deemed “misinformation” by vague, often one-sided guidelines. While unelected individuals censoring American press wouldn’t normally fall under a violation of the First Amendment’s guarantee to free expression, Democrat lawmakers are continuing to use sites like YouTube as proxy for their censorship goals.
According to The Hill,
Earlier Tuesday, Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-Minn.), Gary Peters (D-Mich.), Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) and Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) sent a letter to YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki urging her to take down “all election outcome misinformation” and implement prohibitions on that kind of content like other major social media companies have done.
